Across the universe, in the chapter of human existence seeking for more. Internally craving for the next page of our lives and what it holds. Too heartbreaking to see people holding on to the old wins when there are many more shells to be broke. More victories to celebrate.
Celebrating our wins is not bad, holding onto to it without a little rethink of what we could be doing better can be a boat-sinking. This reminds me of my dear friend.
Someone you could attribute to a hard worker. Nevertheless, he lacked something and it was holding on to his fresh victory that he would forget to look ahead. And when being challenged habitually, he was always finding himself back to square one.
For example, when he was making good sales from his business. He got so-enmeshed with that fleeting glory; rather than focusing on solidifying his strategies to keep it flowing. Each time we had a chance to communicate over the phone, he was always eager to share how sales were rushing in-and that was my happiness as well.
My continuous advice for him was not to be caught up in the celebration that he neglected to look further. I am not one of those who would not celebrate others when they are winning. Taking a look back at my previous relations with people until this hour, I am one of those who see positivity in others’ success. The reason for my advice is I had been in his shoes and I found myself rounding a circle all over and over again each time I managed to achieve something.
Things became different when I acquired the key that most of the biggest minds and change-makers have. And now that I have the key, I see myself moving from one stage to another and that was what I shared with him. I put it into practice and it has been a different story ever since.
The secret is as simple as asking ourselves ‘’WHAT IS NEXT?’’ whenever any win surfaces. Regardless, asking ourselves that question will not sustain the glory to be steady without doing the work required. “What’s next” can be our microscopy rhetorical question to see through our future in the present.
I hope you will not only read this without asking yourself what’s next. It may be the only key you need.
